Rainforest topic
This we have been learning about the rainforest.
We have been looking deeply into deforestation such as: Logging, clearing land for cattle, pollution and mining.
I liked writing the Amazon rainforest posters.
We watched a film called the Amazon with Bruce Parry. It showed some areas of deforestation and illegal areas of drug production.
We also wrote formal letters to a logging company to say STOP CHOPPING DOWN TREES! The person we wrote to was called Mr Gasson.

Rainforest
Hello, Jazmine and Rebakah here, were going to tell you about the what can be inproved in the rainforest topic next year.
It was a nice start with the trip to tropical world, although the work after the trip could of been a little bit entertaining mind you, you did learn lots!
Near the end of the topic we started watching the Amazon with Bruce Parry in it. Bruce Parry started at the sauce of the Amozon River in Puru and ended his journey. It looked like he had a very good time!

Our Rainforest themed term!
This term we have been learning about the rainforest, in particular The Amazon ( In Brazil). It has been a great topic- learning about different environments and indigenous people’s lives. Somethings have been quite disturbing and upsetting however you have to accept this is how they live.
The interesting thing is that the tribes live in a very unique lifestyle, I suppose this is not a bad thing as we’re all unique in different ways. This topic has been very interesting, finding out the facts and figures of how the Amazon is being destroyed by humans and even animals! The best, most enjoyable lesson was watching Bruce Parry’s adventure through the Amazon rainforest and river- he’s been finding the good and the bad.
We found the Amazon very intersting, especially the lifestyle the indigeous people live. We would recommend that this topic should be tought in the future years of Oakworth Primary School. Thanks for reading!
Conclusion to the Rainforest

With the easter break a day away, our rainforest topic is ending. Here is a bit of info that we have learnt.
We learnt about the tribes and how they used what they have . We watched lots of vidoes about them and other things. We also learnt about deforestation, this is people cutting down trees for money. It effects lots of animals and people. We also learnt about gold mining and how it effects the rainforest and its people .

What we have learned about the rainforest…
We learned that there was 4 main parts of the rain fores. The bottom is called the forest floor the next one is called the understorey the one after that is callled the canopy layer and the last one is called the emergent layer. Each one of these layers are very important in so many ways..
The Amazon Rainforest is one of the biggest rainforests in the world and going straight through it is the largest river in the whole world called the Amazon river.
Sadly the rainforest is been destroyed right now by the loggers who are trying to get the logs to use for fires and paper. The loggers say that they are doing it for their families but they dont realise that they are destroying other peoples homes by chopping the rainforest down.
I enjoyed every bit of it so so so much and i dont think anything needs improving at all. I hope u do this project or if you have done this project u will like i do about this topic.
THANK YOU FOR READING MY BLOG BY JAYDON :¬)
Our lessons on the Rainforest
This term we have been learning about the Rainforest and FairTrade products.
Did you know that there are 4 layers in the Rainforest?
Did you know that people live in the rainforest including different types of animals?
We learnt loads of facts and I think this topic should not be changed. We really enjoyed this topic because we brought the Rainforest to ART and SCIENCE.

Our Rainforest Term!
Hi this is Eloise & Laura. The term is nearly at an end and because of this it means that our rainforest term is nearly at an end too.
Good Points:
- We watched loads of vidios about Bruce Parry travling through the Amazon.
- At the begining of term we went on a trip to Tropical World in Leeds.
- Also we wrote fantasy stories that were set in the rainforest.
Improvement Points:
- Link the Rainforest into maths more, like with area and perimiter.
- The teachers elect us in to about 5 different tribes and each tribe clubs together and presents a project at the end of each week.
Overall the rainforest topic was very good.

A whole term on rainforests
This term we looked at rainforests, we included it in literacy, science and more. We learned that there are four layers of the rainforest: forest floor, understory, canopy and emergent layer. We leared more about the rainforest. There are people who live in the forest (on the forest floor and up in the trees.)
This topic was fun because we learned about all sorts of stuff such as: what animals can be found there, why it is being destroyed by loggers, why the Amazon River is getting polluted, what it’s like to live there, who lives there, why big patches of the rainforest are being cut down, why tribe people are being used as slaves, why tribes don’t like outsiders and much more.
